For the person who notices how things are made. Every teddy here is handmade, and many are mohair or alpaca with full jointing, which is the traditional way to make a bear and still a fine one. They sit well, they age well, and up close the difference from a plush bear is obvious in the stitching and the face.

Steiff invented this kind of bear in Giengen in 1902. Teddy-Hermann has made them in Franconia since 1912. Charlie Bears' handmade range brings a more modern face to the same craft. All three are here.

These are not toys, and the makers mark them as such. They are for a shelf, a desk or a chair, and for someone who will look at them properly.
