A collectable item

A collectable teddy is defined by scarcity. It is a numbered limited edition, a Charlie Bears design that has retired from the current collection, or a piece from a year or a series that collectors already look for. The list here is drawn from those signals, and it changes as editions sell out.

Charlie Bears, Steiff and Teddy-Hermann each release collector ranges every year, and we choose from them rather than stocking everything: a curated selection, the pieces we would happily keep ourselves. Retired, in Charlie Bears' language, means a design from a collection that is no longer the current one, not a bear that has been owned before; once a design retires it is only found where it is still on the shelf.

These are made for adults and marked as such by the makers, with the finer materials and details a toy cannot have. They suit a collector of any age, and not a toy box.
